We’re building the open standard for how AI interacts with governments

HelloGov has created GovSchema, the open, vendor-neutral standard for how AI agents read and complete government processes. It is published in full, constantly aligned with the live government forms from around the world, and free for anyone to build on.

How AI agents read government schemas

  • Every government process, from a passport renewal to a company registration, has its own rules. GovSchema publishes each application as an open, machine-readable schema an agent can read directly, instead of a best guess from a government website.

  • The specifications, the schema registry, and the verification methods are all public and versioned. Completely free for anyone to read, use, or build on. HelloGov founded it, but nobody owns it.

  • Each schema holds all the rules a government process follows: which answers are accepted, which are rejected, and when each question applies. An agent reads those rules straight from the schema, instead of trying to work them out for itself.

  • Every schema is constantly checked against its live government source, so what an agent reads matches what the government requires in real time.

The GovSchema schema registry

Passport eligibility checks

The passport schema holds the rules for every kind of application so any agent can confirm which form a person needs and whether they qualify, before submission.

Visa form reviews

The visa schema holds the rules for each destination. Tourist and business visas for 100+ countries, plus travel authorizations, so any agent can complete visa applications autonomously.

Company formation filings

The company formation schema holds the rules for every entity type across all fifty states so agents can confirm which filings a business needs and ensure they meet requirements.
